Simple steps to replace the battery in your 4Runner's key fob
A small button battery installed inside the your keyless entry remote. Remove fasteners on the back of the keyless entry remote. Flip the remote key fob over and find for at least 1 screw holding in the plastic.
Accurately try to disassemble your key with pry tools. Change CR2025 battery with flat head screwdriver.
Get new battery and install it inside fob’s shell. Battery must be placed with the same polarity as was an old. Your key will not work if you by mistake place battery wrong way.
Before assembling keyless entry fob's case, make sure that everything is functioning by testing buttons on remote key fob.
The last thing to do is put your cover back on fob. Accurately try to assemble the pieces in place by hands from top to bottom. If your keyless entry remote body firmly closed, we done. If not, repeat the last step. Screw fastener in the back of the key fob.
