How to Open Your 1996 Honda Accord Key Fob & Change Battery

If your car key is not working well, the battery likely needs to be replaced. Below, we demonstrate how to disassembly your car key fob and change a dead battery DIY. If you decide to do it at home near Accord, follow our instruction, but don't forget to check all you need.
What is the battery key fob require
Before starting open keyless entry remote check all that you need: phillips head screwdriver, flat head screwdriver and CR2025 battery.- phillips head screwdriver

Simple steps to change the battery in your car's remote key fob
A coin cell battery installed inside the your remote key fob. Remove screw on the back of the remote key fob. Flip the remote key fob over and look for at least one fastener holding in the plastic.
Accurately try to open your fob with pry tools. Remove 1xCR2025 battery with flat head screwdriver.
Change old battery with new one CR2025. Battery must be placed with the same position as was a previous. Your key will not work if you mistakenly place battery wrong way.
When the new battery installed, check remote key fob by pressing buttons. If all functions works, assemble your fob’s body in reverse order.
At this point squeeze keyless entry fob's back cover together. Line your case two halves together and assemble it in place by hands from top to bottom. Inspect your key fob shell for gaps. If it is not tightly closed try to repeat last step. Screw fastener in the back of the keyless entry remote.
