Simple steps to replace the battery in your Jetta's key fob
Inside of your key fob installed tiny coin battery. Gently try to pry apart your remote key fob with pry tools. Change 2xCR2016 batteries with flat head screwdriver.
Get new batteries and install it in fob’s case. Every battery has a negative and positive side and if you put the wrong connector down, the current cannot go into your circuit board and make it work. Check position on battery, by "+" mark.
When the new batteries installed, verify key fob by pressing buttons. If all functions works, assemble your fob’s shell in reverse order.
The last thing to do is put your cover back on fob. Carefully try to put the pieces together by hands from top to bottom. Check your key fob case for gaps. If it is not firmly closed try to repeat last step.
