1997 Saturn SL2 Key Fob Battery Replacement Guide

If your car keyless entry remote is no longer open doors perfectly, the battery most likely needs to be replaced. In this case, we demonstrate how to open your car key fob and change a dead battery yourself. If you decide to do it at home near SL2, use this instruction, but first make sure you have everything you need before you start.

Prior to open keyless entry remote be sure that you have all recommended tools and materials: flat head screwdriver and 1xCR2032 battery.- 1xCR2032 battery

Simple steps to replace the battery in your SL2's keyless entry remote
Inside of your keyless entry remote installed tiny coin cell battery. Gently try to pry apart your fob with pry tools. Change CR2032 battery with flat head screwdriver.
Change old battery with new one CR2032. Be sure to connect the battery the right way around in a circuit. Your remote key fob will not work if you place battery wrong way.
After the new battery installed, verify remote key fob functionality by pressing buttons. If all functions works, assemble your keyless entry fob's shell in reverse order.
The last thing to do is put your cover back on fob. Carefully try to assemble the pieces together by hands from top to bottom. If your key fob shell firmly closed, we done. If not, repeat the last step.
