1997 Toyota Corolla Key Fob Battery Replacement Instructions

Keyless entry remote grant access to your auto. When the key fob battery is discharged you will lose your fob’s ability to control remote functions. In this post, we explained how to disassembly your car remote key fob and change your Toyota key battery.

Before beginning open key fob check all that you need: CR2025 battery, phillips head screwdriver and flat head screwdriver.- phillips head screwdriver

Step by step instruction
A tiny button cell battery installed in the your remote key fob. Remove fasteners on the back of the key fob. Flip the remote key fob over and look for at least one fastener holding in the plastic.
Carefully try to open your fob with hands or flat head screwdriver. Remove one CR2025 battery with flat head screwdriver.
Replace old battery with new one CR2025. Be sure to connect the battery the right way around in a circuit. Your key fob will not work if you put battery wrong way.
When the new battery installed, verify key fob functionality by pressing buttons. If everything is functioning, assemble your fob’s shell in reverse order.
At this point squeeze keyless entry fob's back cover together. Line your shell pieces together and put it together by hands from top to bottom. Inspect your key shell for gaps. If it is not tightly closed try to repeat last step. Screw the back of the key fob.
