How to Open Your 1997 Toyota Tacoma Key Fob & Change Battery

Changing battery in key fob require flat head screwdriver, phillips head screwdriver and one CR2025 battery. Prepare these materials and tools before opening and make sure to match the size of your keyless entry fob's batteries.- phillips head screwdriver

Step by step guide
Inside of your keyless entry remote installed tiny button cell battery. Remove fasteners on the back of the key fob. Flip the keyless entry remote over and find for at least one fastener holding in the plastic.
Carefully try to disassemble your remote key fob with hands or flat head screwdriver. Change 1 CR2025 battery with flat head screwdriver.
Change old battery with fresh one CR2025. Battery must be installed with the same position as was a previous. Your key fob will not work if you by mistake put battery wrong way.
After the new battery installed, verify remote key fob functionality by pressing buttons. If all functions works, assemble your keyless entry fob's body in reverse order.
At this point squeeze fob’s back cover together. Line your case pieces together and assemble it together by hands from top to bottom. If your keyless entry remote body firmly closed, we done. If not, repeat the last step. Screw fastener in the back of the key fob.
