How to Open Your 1998 Audi A4 Key Fob and Change Battery
Remote key fob allow easy access to your Audi. Once the keyless entry remote battery is weak you not to be able lock trunk or doors from distance. Below, we outlined how to disassembly your key fob and replace your Audi key battery.

Simple steps to replace the battery in your A4's keyless entry remote
A coin cell battery installed in the your remote key fob. Open the key if it is in the keyless entry remote. Your key fob key must be extracted with slide.
Accurately try to disassemble your fob with hands or flat head screwdriver. Remove two CR1620 batteries with flat head screwdriver.
Replace old batteries with new one CR1620. Every battery has a negative and positive side and if you put the wrong connector down, the charge cannot go into your circuit board and make it work. Check position on battery, by "+" mark.
When the new batteries installed, verify keyless entry remote functionality by pressing buttons. If all functions works, assemble your fob’s shell in reverse order.
The last thing to do is put your cover back on fob. Delicately try to assemble the two halves in place by hands from top to bottom. Inspect your key case for gaps. If it is not firmly closed try to repeat last step.
