How to Open Your 1998 Mercedes-Benz C280 Key Fob & Change Battery

Step by step guide
Inside of your remote key fob installed tiny button cell battery. Move the key out of the way if it is in the remote key fob.
Carefully try to open your key with flat head screwdriver. Change CR2025 batteries with flat head screwdriver.
Get new batteries and install it inside keyless entry fob's case. Every battery has a negative and positive side and if you put the wrong connector down, the charge cannot go into your circuit board and make it work. Check position on battery, by "+" mark.
After the new batteries installed, verify key fob by pressing buttons. If all functions works, assemble your fob’s case in reverse order.
At this point squeeze keyless entry fob's back cover together. Line your shell pieces together and put it in place by hands from top to bottom. Check your keyless entry remote shell for gaps. If it is not tightly closed try to repeat last step.
