How to Open Your 2000 Volkswagen Golf Key Fob and Change Battery

Step by step guide
Inside of your keyless entry remote installed small button cell battery. Carefully try to open your key with hands or flat head screwdriver. Replace 1xCR2032 battery with flat head screwdriver.
Get new battery and install it inside fob’s shell. Every battery has a negative and positive side and if you put the wrong connector down, the charge cannot go into your circuit board and make it work. Check position on battery, by "+" mark.
Before assembling keyless entry fob's case, verify that all functions works by testing buttons on circuit board.
The last thing to do is put your cover back on fob. Carefully try to assemble the two halves together by hands from top to bottom. Inspect your fob body for gaps. If it is not firmly closed try to repeat last step.
