How to Open Your 2001 Hyundai Sonata Key Fob & Change Battery

Replacing battery in key fob require one CR2032 battery, phillips head screwdriver and flat head screwdriver. Prepare these materials and tools before opening and make sure to match the type of your fob’s batteries.- phillips head screwdriver

Simple steps to replace the battery in your Sonata's keyless entry remote
Inside of your remote key fob installed small button battery. Remove screw on the back of the remote key fob. Spin the key fob over and look for at least one screw holding in the plastic.
Delicately try to disassemble your key with hands or flat head screwdriver. Remove 1 CR2032 battery with flat head screwdriver.
Replace old battery with fresh one CR2032. Be sure to connect the battery the right way around in a circuit. Your keyless entry remote will not work if you connect battery wrong way.
After the new battery installed, verify key fob functionality by pressing buttons. If all functions works, assemble your fob’s shell in reverse order.
The last thing to do is put your cover back on fob. Carefully try to assemble the two halves together by hands from top to bottom. Inspect your keyless entry remote shell for gaps. If it is not firmly closed try to repeat last step. Screw fastener in the back of the remote key fob.
