Simple steps to replace the battery in your MR2's keyless entry remote
A small button battery installed inside the your key fob. Remove screw on the back of the keyless entry remote. Spin the key fob over and look for at least 1 screw holding in the plastic.
Carefully try to pry apart your remote key fob with flat head screwdriver. Change one CR2025 battery with flat head screwdriver.
Now it's time to install new battery in fob’s case. Be sure to connect the battery the right way around in a circuit. Your remote key fob will not work if you put battery wrong way.
After the new battery installed, verify keyless entry remote functionality by pressing buttons. If everything working fine, assemble your keyless entry fob's case in reverse order.
The last thing to do is put your cover back on fob. Gently try to assemble the pieces together by hands from top to bottom. Inspect your key fob body for gaps. If it is not tightly closed try to repeat last step. Screw fastener in the back of the keyless entry remote.
