Simple steps to replace the battery in your Tacoma's keyless entry remote
Inside of your remote key fob installed coin battery. Remove fasteners on the back of the key fob. Flip the remote key fob over and find for at least 1 fastener holding in the plastic.
Delicately try to open your key fob with pry tools. Replace 1 CR2025 battery with flat head screwdriver.
Get new battery and install it inside fob’s shell. Be sure to connect the battery the right way around in a circuit. Your key fob will not work if you place battery wrong way.
After the new battery installed, check key fob functionality by pressing buttons. If everything is functioning, assemble your fob’s shell in reverse order.
The last thing to do is put your cover back on fob. Gently try to put the two halves together by hands from top to bottom. If your keyless entry remote body tightly closed, we done. If not, repeat the last step. Screw fastener in the back of the remote key fob.
