Simple steps to replace the battery in your XJR's remote key fob
Inside of your keyless entry remote installed button battery. Open key before you try to pry apart the keyless entry remote.
Carefully try to pry apart your keyless entry remote with flat head screwdriver. Replace one CR2032 battery with flat head screwdriver.
Replace old battery with new one CR2032. Every battery has a negative and positive side and if you put the wrong connector down, the current cannot go into your circuit board and make it work. Check polarity on battery, by "+" mark.
Before assembling keyless entry fob's case, make sure that all functions works by pressing buttons on keyless entry remote.
At this point squeeze fob’s back cover together. Line your case two halves together and assemble it in place by hands from top to bottom. Check your key case for gaps. If it is not firmly closed try to repeat last step.
