Simple steps to replace the battery in your MX-5 Miata's key fob
A small coin cell battery installed in the your remote key fob. Gently try to pry apart your keyless entry remote with pry tools. Replace one CR2025 battery with flat head screwdriver.
Get new battery and install it in keyless entry fob's case. Battery must be placed with the same position as was an old. Your remote key fob will not work if you mistakenly put battery wrong way.
When the new battery installed, verify key fob functionality by pressing buttons. If everything is functioning, assemble your keyless entry fob's shell in reverse order.
The last thing to do is put your cover back on fob. Delicately try to assemble the pieces together by hands from top to bottom. Inspect your key fob shell for gaps. If it is not tightly closed try to repeat last step.
