2004 Volkswagen Jetta Key Fob Battery Replacement Guide

If your Volkswagen key fob is no longer open doors properly, the battery most likely must to be changed. In this article, we outlined how to open your car key fob and change your Volkswagen key battery step by step.
What kind of battery remote key fob use
Before going to disassembly key fob check all that you need: one CR2032 battery and flat head screwdriver.- 1xCR2032 battery

Step by step guide
A small button cell battery installed inside the your remote key fob. Open the key if it is in the keyless entry remote.
Carefully try to open your keyless entry remote with flat head screwdriver. Change CR2032 battery with flat head screwdriver.
Get new battery and install it inside fob’s shell. Be sure to connect the battery the right way around in a circuit. Your key fob will not work if you connect battery wrong way.
After the new battery installed, verify key fob functionality by pressing buttons. If everything working properly, assemble your keyless entry fob's body in reverse order.
At this point squeeze keyless entry fob's back cover together. Line your body two halves together and assemble it together by hands from top to bottom. Check your fob shell for gaps. If it is not firmly closed try to repeat last step.
