2006 BMW 5-Series Key Fob Battery Replacement Guide

If your 5-Series keyless entry remote is not open doors correct, the battery most likely needs to be changed. Below, we explained how to open your key fob and change your BMW key battery step by step.
What is the battery key fob require
Before going to disassembly remote key fob check all that you need: box cutter, flat head screwdriver, one CR2032 battery and glue for plastics.- razor knife

Step by step instruction
A coin cell battery installed inside the your remote key fob. Remove any internal key before you try to pry apart the keyless entry remote. To open this keyless entry remote you need scoring the edges with razor blade knife first.
Gently try to pry apart your key with pry tools. Replace CR2032 battery with flat head screwdriver.
Change old battery with new one CR2032. Every battery has a negative and positive side and if you put the wrong connector down, the current cannot go into your circuit board and make it work. Check polarity on battery, by "+" mark.
When the new battery installed, verify keyless entry remote by pressing buttons. If everything is functioning, assemble your keyless entry fob's body in reverse order.
At this point squeeze fob’s back cover together. Line your shell pieces together and put it in place by hands from top to bottom. Inspect your key body for gaps. If it is not firmly closed try to repeat last step. Glue the back of the remote key fob.
