Simple steps to replace the battery in your Prius's key fob
A tiny coin battery installed inside the your remote key fob. Unscrew the back of the remote key fob. Flip the remote key fob over and look for at least 1 screw holding in the plastic.
Accurately try to pry apart your key fob with hands or flat head screwdriver. Remove 1xCR2032 battery with flat head screwdriver.
Get new battery and install it inside fob’s body. Every battery has a negative and positive side and if you put the wrong connector down, the charge cannot go into your circuit board and make it work. Check polarity on battery, by "+" mark.
Before assembling keyless entry fob's case, make sure that all functions works by pressing buttons on circuit board.
The last thing to do is put your cover back on fob. Gently try to assemble the pieces together by hands from top to bottom. Inspect your keyless entry remote body for gaps. If it is not firmly closed try to repeat last step. Screw the back of the key fob.
