Simple steps to replace the battery in your Fortwo's keyless entry remote
A small button battery installed inside the your key fob. Move the key out of the way if it is in the remote key fob.
Carefully try to open your remote key fob with hands or flat head screwdriver. Remove one CR2016 battery with flat head screwdriver.
Change old battery with fresh one CR2016. Battery must be placed with the same polarity as was a previous. Your remote key fob will not work if you by mistake put battery wrong way.
After the new battery installed, verify keyless entry remote by pressing buttons. If everything is functioning, assemble your fob’s body in reverse order.
At this point squeeze keyless entry fob's back cover together. Line your case two halves together and assemble it together by hands from top to bottom. If your keyless entry remote body firmly closed, we done. If not, repeat the last step.
