How to Open Your 2007 Toyota Tacoma Key Fob and Change Battery

What kind of battery key fob requirePrior to open keyless entry remote be sure that you have all required tools and materials: flat head screwdriver, phillips head screwdriver and one CR2032 battery.

Step by step instruction
Inside of your remote key fob installed small coin cell battery. Unscrew the back of the key fob. Flip the key fob over and find for at least 1 screw holding in the plastic.
Carefully try to pry apart your keyless entry remote with hands or flat head screwdriver. Replace CR2032 battery with flat head screwdriver.
Replace old battery with new one CR2032. Every battery has a negative and positive side and if you put the wrong connector down, the current cannot go into your circuit board and make it work. Check polarity on battery, by "+" mark.
When the new battery installed, verify remote key fob by pressing buttons. If all functions works, assemble your keyless entry fob's shell in reverse order.
The last thing to do is put your cover back on fob. Accurately try to assemble the two halves in place by hands from top to bottom. If your key fob body tightly closed, we done. If not, repeat the last step. Screw fastener in the back of the keyless entry remote.
