How to Replace the Battery in a 2008 Toyota Tacoma Key Fob

Simple steps to replace the battery in your Tacoma's keyless entry remote
A tiny coin cell battery installed inside the your keyless entry remote. Remove screw on the back of the keyless entry remote. Spin the key fob over and look for at least 1 fastener holding in the plastic.
Accurately try to disassemble your key fob with flat head screwdriver. Replace 1 CR2032 battery with flat head screwdriver.
Get new battery and install it inside keyless entry fob's shell. Battery must be installed with the same position as was an old. Your keyless entry remote will not work if you by mistake place battery wrong way.
When the new battery installed, check remote key fob by pressing buttons. If all functions works, assemble your fob’s case in reverse order.
The last thing to do is put your cover back on fob. Gently try to assemble the two halves together by hands from top to bottom. Inspect your key fob shell for gaps. If it is not tightly closed try to repeat last step. Screw the back of the key fob.
