How to Open Your 2009 Honda Element Key Fob & Change Battery

Key fob allow easy access to your auto. Once the key fob battery is weak or dead you’ll lose your keyless entry fob's ability to control distance functions. It's not complicated to replace the battery in your key fob, and it’s easier than you think. Everything you need is explained below.
What kind of battery key fob require
Replacing battery in keyless entry remote require 1 CR2025 battery, flat head screwdriver and phillips head screwdriver. Prepare these materials and tools before opening and make sure to match the size of your fob’s batteries.- phillips head screwdriver
- 1xCR2025 battery
- flat head screwdriver
Simple steps to replace the battery in your Element's keyless entry remote
Inside of your keyless entry remote installed tiny coin battery. Remove fasteners on the back of the remote key fob. Flip the keyless entry remote over and look for at least 1 screw holding in the plastic.
Carefully try to disassemble your remote key fob with hands or flat head screwdriver. Change CR2025 battery with flat head screwdriver.
Get new battery and install it inside fob’s shell. Every battery has a negative and positive side and if you put the wrong connector down, the current cannot go into your circuit board and make it work. Check polarity on battery, by "+" mark.
After the new battery installed, verify key fob functionality by pressing buttons. If all functions works, assemble your fob’s shell in reverse order.
The last thing to do is put your cover back on fob. Gently try to put the two halves together by hands from top to bottom. If your keyless entry remote shell firmly closed, we done. If not, repeat the last step. Screw fastener in the back of the keyless entry remote.
