Changing batteries in key fob require 2xCR2430 batteries and flat head screwdriver. Prepare these materials and tools before opening and make sure to match the size of your fob’s batteries.- 2xCR2430 batteries

Simple steps to replace the battery in your XC70's remote key fob
A small button battery installed in the your key fob. Remove any internal key first, and then try to pry apart the remote key fob.
Accurately try to disassemble your remote key fob with flat head screwdriver. Remove 2 CR2430 batteries with flat head screwdriver.
Replace old batteries with new one CR2430. Battery must be installed with the same position as was a previous. Your key fob will not work if you by mistake place battery wrong way.
When the new batteries installed, verify key fob by pressing buttons. If everything working fine, assemble your fob’s body in reverse order.
At this point squeeze keyless entry fob's back cover together. Line your body two halves together and put it together by hands from top to bottom. If your key fob shell tightly closed, we done. If not, repeat the last step.
