Replacing battery in remote key fob require one CR2032 battery and flat head screwdriver. Prepare these materials and tools before opening and make sure to match the size of your fob’s batteries.- 1xCR2032 battery

Simple steps to replace the battery in your Mustang's key fob
A small button cell battery installed inside the your key fob. Gently try to open your keyless entry remote with hands or flat head screwdriver. Remove CR2032 battery with flat head screwdriver.
Replace old battery with new one CR2032. Every battery has a negative and positive side and if you put the wrong connector down, the charge cannot go into your circuit board and make it work. Check polarity on battery, by "+" mark.
After the new battery installed, verify remote key fob functionality by pressing buttons. If all functions works, assemble your keyless entry fob's case in reverse order.
The last thing to do is put your cover back on fob. Carefully try to assemble the two halves together by hands from top to bottom. Check your remote key fob case for gaps. If it is not firmly closed try to repeat last step.
