Simple steps to replace the battery in your car's key fob
A tiny button cell battery installed in the your remote key fob. To disassemble this keyless entry remote you need scoring the edges with boxcutter first.
Gently try to open your key fob with flat head screwdriver. VL2020 is rechargeable battery. To remove it from a keyless entry remote soldering iron required.
Replace old battery with new one VL2020. Battery must be placed with the same polarity as was an old. Your remote key fob will not work if you by mistake put battery wrong way.
When the new battery installed, check keyless entry remote functionality by pressing buttons. If all functions works, assemble your fob’s shell in reverse order.
The last thing to do is put your cover back on fob. Accurately try to put the two halves together by hands from top to bottom. Check your remote key fob shell for gaps. If it is not tightly closed try to repeat last step. Glue the back of the key fob.
