Simple steps to replace the battery in your car's remote key fob
A tiny button cell battery installed inside the your key fob. Remove any internal key first, and then try to pry apart the keyless entry remote. Remove fasteners on the back of the remote key fob. Flip the key fob over and look for at least one fastener holding in the plastic.
Accurately try to disassemble your fob with hands or flat head screwdriver. Remove 1 CR2032 battery with flat head screwdriver.
Replace old battery with fresh one CR2032. Be sure to connect the battery the right way around in a circuit. Your remote key fob will not work if you put battery wrong way.
When the new battery installed, verify key fob by pressing buttons. If all functions works, assemble your keyless entry fob's shell in reverse order.
The last thing to do is put your cover back on fob. Accurately try to assemble the two halves together by hands from top to bottom. Inspect your key body for gaps. If it is not firmly closed try to repeat last step. Screw fastener in the back of the key fob.
