How to Open Your 2013 Smart Fortwo Key Fob & Change Battery
If your car key isn't working perfectly, the cell battery probably needs to be changed. In this case, we demonstrate how to disassembly your key fob and change a weak or dead battery DIY. What is the battery key fob require
Before you start to open key fob check all that you need: 1 CR2016 battery and flat head screwdriver.- 1xCR2016 battery

Simple steps to replace the battery in your car's keyless entry remote
A small button battery installed in the your key fob. Move the key out of the way if it is in the remote key fob.
Carefully try to open your keyless entry remote with hands or flat head screwdriver. Remove one CR2016 battery with flat head screwdriver.
Replace old battery with new one CR2016. Battery must be placed with the same polarity as was an old. Your key will not work if you mistakenly put battery wrong way.
After the new battery installed, check key fob functionality by pressing buttons. If all functions works, assemble your fob’s shell in reverse order.
The last thing to do is put your cover back on fob. Delicately try to put the pieces together by hands from top to bottom. Inspect your fob body for gaps. If it is not tightly closed try to repeat last step.
