How to Replace the Battery in a 2013 Toyota Prius Key Fob

If your Prius key is not working well, the cell battery more likely needs to be replaced. In this article, we described how to open your remote key fob and change your Toyota key battery.
What kind of battery key fob use
Before going to open keyless entry remote be sure that you have all required tools and materials: flat head screwdriver and CR1632 battery.- flat head screwdriver

Simple steps to replace the battery in your Prius's remote key fob
Inside of your key fob installed button cell battery. Remove any internal key before you try to pry apart the keyless entry remote.
Gently try to disassemble your remote key fob with pry tools. Change 1 CR1632 battery with flat head screwdriver.
Get new battery and install it inside fob’s case. Be sure to connect the battery the right way around in a circuit. Your keyless entry remote will not work if you put battery wrong way.
When the new battery installed, verify key fob by pressing buttons. If everything is functioning, assemble your keyless entry fob's body in reverse order.
At this point squeeze fob’s back cover together. Line your shell pieces together and put it together by hands from top to bottom. If your remote key fob case firmly closed, we done. If not, repeat the last step.
