2013 Volkswagen GTI Key Fob Battery Replacement Instructions

If your GTI key fob is not open doors properly, the battery surely needs to be replaced. Below, we explained how to open your keyless entry remote and change your Volkswagen key battery.

Prior to open remote key fob check all that you need: flat head screwdriver and one CR2032 battery.- 1xCR2032 battery

Simple steps to replace the battery in your car's remote key fob
A small coin cell battery installed in the your keyless entry remote. Open key before you try to pry apart the key fob.
Accurately try to disassemble your fob with hands or flat head screwdriver. Change CR2032 battery with flat head screwdriver.
Replace old battery with new one CR2032. Battery must be placed with the same position as was an old. Your keyless entry remote will not work if you by mistake place battery wrong way.
When the new battery installed, check key fob functionality by pressing buttons. If all functions works, assemble your fob’s body in reverse order.
At this point squeeze fob’s back cover together. Line your case two halves together and put it in place by hands from top to bottom. Check your key fob case for gaps. If it is not firmly closed try to repeat last step.
