Before beginning disassembly key fob be sure that you have all recommended tools and materials: flat head screwdriver and 1 CR2032 battery.- 1xCR2032 battery

Simple steps to replace the battery in your Malibu's keyless entry remote
A button cell battery installed inside the your keyless entry remote. Open key first, and then try to pry apart the remote key fob.
Delicately try to open your key fob with flat head screwdriver. Remove 1 CR2032 battery with flat head screwdriver.
Replace old battery with new one CR2032. Battery must be installed with the same polarity as was an old. Your keyless entry remote will not work if you by mistake place battery wrong way.
When the new battery installed, verify remote key fob functionality by pressing buttons. If everything is functioning, assemble your fob’s body in reverse order.
The last thing to do is put your cover back on fob. Delicately try to assemble the pieces in place by hands from top to bottom. Check your keyless entry remote body for gaps. If it is not firmly closed try to repeat last step.
