Simple steps to change the battery in your MKZ's remote key fob
Inside of your remote key fob installed button battery. Remove any internal key first, and then try to pry apart the keyless entry remote.
Delicately try to pry apart your keyless entry remote with hands or flat head screwdriver. Remove CR2025 batteries with flat head screwdriver.
Get new batteries and install it in fob’s shell. Every battery has a negative and positive side and if you put the wrong connector down, the current cannot go into your circuit board and make it work. Check polarity on battery, by "+" mark.
Before assembling keyless entry fob's case, check that all working fine by pressing buttons on remote key fob.
At this point squeeze fob’s back cover together. Line your shell pieces together and assemble it in place by hands from top to bottom. Check your key shell for gaps. If it is not firmly closed try to repeat last step.
