How to Replace the Battery in a 2016 Volvo S80 Key Fob
Remote key fob allow easy access to your auto. Once the keyless entry remote battery is discharged you’ll lose your fob’s ability to use distance functions. In this article, we demonstrate how to disassembly your key fob and change a discharged battery yourself. If you choose to do it at home near S80, follow our instruction, but first make sure you have tools and materials required before you start.
What is the battery remote key fob use
Before beginning disassembly keyless entry remote be sure that you have all required tools and materials: flat head screwdriver and two CR2430 batteries.- 2xCR2430 batteries

Simple steps to replace the battery in your S80's keyless entry remote
Inside of your remote key fob installed tiny coin cell battery. Move the key out of the way if it is in the keyless entry remote.
Gently try to pry apart your fob with pry tools. Remove 2 CR2430 batteries with flat head screwdriver.
Get new batteries and install it inside fob’s body. Be sure to connect the battery the right way around in a circuit. Your key fob will not work if you put battery wrong way.
When the new batteries installed, check remote key fob by pressing buttons. If everything is functioning, assemble your keyless entry fob's shell in reverse order.
The last thing to do is put your cover back on fob. Accurately try to put the two halves together by hands from top to bottom. Check your key case for gaps. If it is not tightly closed try to repeat last step.
