How to Open Your 2018 Jeep Compass Key Fob & Change Battery

Replacing battery in keyless entry remote require flat head screwdriver and CR2032 battery. Prepare these materials and tools before opening and make sure to match the type of your fob’s batteries.- 1xCR2032 battery

Step by step instruction
A button cell battery installed in the your remote key fob. Move the key out of the way if it is in the keyless entry remote.
Delicately try to disassemble your remote key fob with flat head screwdriver. Remove 1xCR2032 battery with flat head screwdriver.
Get new battery and install it inside keyless entry fob's case. Every battery has a negative and positive side and if you put the wrong connector down, the current cannot go into your circuit board and make it work. Check polarity on battery, by "+" mark.
After the new battery installed, check remote key fob by pressing buttons. If all functions works, assemble your fob’s body in reverse order.
The last thing to do is put your cover back on fob. Delicately try to put the two halves in place by hands from top to bottom. Check your remote key fob case for gaps. If it is not firmly closed try to repeat last step.
