Simple steps to change the battery in your Grand Cherokee's key fob
A tiny button cell battery installed in the your remote key fob. Remove any internal key before you try to pry apart the keyless entry remote.
Gently try to disassemble your keyless entry remote with flat head screwdriver. Change one CR2032 battery with flat head screwdriver.
Replace old battery with new one CR2032. Be sure to connect the battery the right way around in a circuit. Your keyless entry remote will not work if you put battery wrong way.
After the new battery installed, verify key fob by pressing buttons. If all functions works, assemble your fob’s shell in reverse order.
At this point squeeze fob’s back cover together. Line your body two halves together and assemble it together by hands from top to bottom. Inspect your key fob body for gaps. If it is not tightly closed try to repeat last step.
