Simple steps to replace the battery in your Tacoma's keyless entry remote
Inside of your key fob installed small button battery. Remove any internal key before you try to pry apart the key fob.
Carefully try to pry apart your key with hands or flat head screwdriver. Change 1 CR2032 battery with flat head screwdriver.
Get new battery and install it in keyless entry fob's body. Every battery has a negative and positive side and if you put the wrong connector down, the current cannot go into your circuit board and make it work. Check polarity on battery, by "+" mark.
Before assembling fob’s case, make sure that everything is functioning by testing buttons on remote key fob.
The last thing to do is put your cover back on fob. Delicately try to assemble the two halves in place by hands from top to bottom. If your fob case firmly closed, we done. If not, repeat the last step.
